Breathing is a process through which air containing oxygen and carbon dioxide is taken into the body. The oxygen is then taken into the blood from the lungs and is transported to all the cells. Cells use this oxygen to obtain energy from the nutrients in the food we eat. This process is called respiration. So breathing takes in oxygen esssential for respiration.
