Question -

A particle is projected veritically upward in vacuum with a speed  40 m/s then velocity of particle when it reaches at maximum height 2 s before, is (Take g = 10 m/`s^2`)

Options:
A .  20 m/s
B .  4.2 m/s
C .  9.8 m/s
D .  None of these.
Answer: Option A

At the maximum height , `v = 0`

`:.`      v = u - gt

             0 = u - g`t_0`

`:.`       `   t_0 = u/g = 40/10 = 4 sec`

`:.`            v = u - gt

                    = 40 - 10(4 - 2)  = 20 m/s
