Question -

If an   `x = a ( cos theta + theta sin theta)` and  ` y = a ( sin theta - theta cos theta )` and `theta` increase at uniform  rate `omega`. The velocity of particle is

Options:
A .  `a omega`
B .  `(a^2 theta)/(omega)`
C .  `(a theta)/(omega)`
D .  `a theta omega`
Answer: Option D

Here . `omega = (d theta)/(dt)`

`:.`         `v_x = (dx)/(dt) = a {- sin theta  (d theta)/(dt) + sin theta  (d theta)/(dt) + (d(sin theta))/(dt)}`

                    = `a omega [ - sin theta + sin theta + theta cos theta]`

                   = `a omega theta cos theta`

`v_y = (dy)/(dt) = a{cos theta  (d theta)/(dt) - cos theta (d theta )/(dt) + theta omega sin theta }`

                         =  `a omega {theta sin theta }`

                         = `a omega theta sin theta `

`:.  `                `    v =     sqrt(v_x^2 + v_y^2)`

                            = `a omega theta sin theta`
