It occurs in some angiosperms like garden nasturtium (Tropacolum) colocasia, tomato, etc., and is most noticeable where transpiration is suppressed and relative humidity is high such as during the night. It also takes place the early morning, when soil moisture, root pressure and rate of water absorption is higher.
